AFRICAN INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIP 2014 (Games hot up after round six of nine) !!

FIRE ON TOP BOARDS as AFRICAN INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIP enters its last three rounds ***  as the tournament comes down to the last 3 rounds ,the games are getting hotter and the race for the top spots has become quite volatile as the unbeaten and highly rated continues to bleed on the board however none of the players on the top boards can be ruled out of coming first in this event as the element of unpredictability and sporadic nature of African Chess players is spicing up the clashes with interesting flavours , looking most formidable are the trio of  IM Farahat Ali(Egypt) 2386,IM Solomon Kenny (South African GM-elect) and  IM Cawdery Daniel (South Africa) 2430 ranked first to third respectively (after 6 rounds) with IM  Ali opening up a one point gap at the top. Solomon kenny who defeated GM Adly however is presented with a golden opportunity with the White pieces to close the gap in round seven as he is set to collide with IM Ali on board one armed with the white pieces. GM Adly Ahmed who having conceded defeat twice to South Africans seems to have them as his nemesis so far in this tournament is up against another South African  IM Cawdery Daniel (2430) on board two,CM Fawole John Oyeyemi of Nigeria is still very much in the race for the top spot as he pairs up against Ugandan top player FM Wanyama Harold on board three.Fawole outplayed and beat IM  Chumfwa Stanley 2356 in round 6 and the former Nigerian Champion seems to have gotten a good wind aiding his sail towards the top board  The  current Nigerian national champion CM Kigigha Bomo  with the white pieces is up against a very formidable opponent , IM Jere Daniels of Zambia who is rated 2370,Mwale Joseph (malawi) vs CM Simoes Joao (Angola) and  FM Klaasen Calvin Jong (South Africa) Vs CM Abrantes Persson (Mozambique ) squaring up on boards five and six respectively and all on 3.5 out of 6 are also not too far from the top boards. GM Adly however could become the deciding factor eventually as he remained dangerous in spite of losing two games so far in this event.Today's round seven  games will surely be very crucial as any slip at this point could be very fatal as far as making the first position is concerned, however titles are still achievable even in case of set backs on the board hence a fight to the finish approach is advisable in case of set backs as players should aim to finish as high as they can on the Final ranking list . A player finishing 7th   could get the International master title depending on the table set up !! Round seven comes up 3 PM Namibian time (2 PM Nigerian time)  READ MORE @   http://www.akinov.com/2014/12/african-individual-chess-championships_50.html
